Tent Heater, Various sizes - $115 and up +Fuel

Having an early season event or a fall wedding?  Heating your tent may be something that you wish to consider.  We have a wide array of heaters from 60,000-300,000 BTUs and everything in between to make sure you and your guests stay comfortable all night long.

You may ask what about harmful gasses?  Don’t worry, we have the right equipment to keep you and your guests safe. Tent heaters are unique when it comes to portable heating. In fact, they are very similar to a stationary forced hot air furnace that many of us have in our homes.  The combustion happens outside of the tent in the heater, and the fumey combustion gases are exhausted outside of the tent.  Fresh clean air is taken in by the unit, heated, and then ducted into the tent as seen in the picture.  So you have no smells or odors, just clean breathable warm air.

These heaters are very specialized to meet the stringent coding standards that apply to heating temporary structures.  Not only are “normal” construction heaters not safe to use because of fumes and gasses, they also are not legal for use under tents.  The same is true for the umbrella, mushroom, or patio style heaters, because the fuel and combustion is still happening within the tent.

A few things to remember about heating a tent:

-Full or almost full side walls are needed to be able to keep the heat in.  Otherwise it will just blow right out and not heat much up.

-In larger tents, it is often better to use multiple smaller heaters rather than one larger heater.  By spacing 2 units on opposite sides of a tent you will get a better more even heat without having the more severe hot and cold spots that one heater will create (ie. 2-175k units instead of 1- 300k unit).

-There are multiple factors for figuring out the number and size of heaters to properly heat a tent. The size of the tent, the ambient temperature outside, and how warm you want the inside to be all play a part in determining the necessary amount.  We can help guide you in the right direction based on your event and historical needs for the time you are looking at.

-Most of tent heaters are propane powered and require at least one 100lb tank to operate.  A single tank is sufficient for most events.  More than one tank may be needed to run these units for events where the run time is longer than average or if the outside temperature is too low to allow for fast enough propane evaporation. We will work with you ahead of time so you have no issues on the day of your event.
